  1. I keep saying – this is a cultural issue. We were brainwashed into thinking that devoting our lives to corporate, chasing money and being self obsessed on some shit like self improvement or spirituality is better than having a family. Many people around 30 still play video games whole time like they are children.

Something went really wrong with millennials

  2. While I agree with most of it I don’t think it’s right to downplay economical reasons – mainly cost of housing. Many young(ish) couples would consider children if they had means to rise them. In a way that’s better than they received. Meaning having separate room for the kid, money to send it on the trips etc. It’s not something 800+ will fix, as mortgages for 2 or 3 room flat in big cities is often higher than salary.

On top of that young people often can’t count on their parents help – as they are living far away, working or just enjoying their retirement with no intention of being full-time babysitters for free like their parents were.

  3. It’s a worldwide problem, having a cost is just too much money these days

  4. I’d love to have kids but I can even save up for a downpayment at a decent pace. Companies lay off people as they please and it’s harder to get UOP. Up until now I’ve been mostly on UZ and recently been through a mass layoff too. I wouldn’t be able to qualify for a mortgage right now and I’m 30.

  5. This article is so insanely out of touch. People are not having kids because it is a horrible financial decision in a world where both adults need to be working to have any semblance of quality of life.

  6. Same old story – an issue is primarily economical, but we mustn’t speak of the economy – so we focus on all of the other factors.
