The Mid-Region Council of Governments has kicked off a series of public engagement events to update the region’s five-year comprehensive economic development strategy. The roadmap guides job growth and economic development across Bernalillo, Valencia, Torrance and Sandoval counties and supports applications for critical federal funding.Major projects like the Amazon Center and Albuquerque Rail Yards all began with this regional plan. “These game-changing developments are funded with Economic Development Administration money, which makes public input on the CEDS vital,” MRCOG Economic Development Program Manager Augusta Meyers said.The updated CEDS focuses on today’s economy and the types of jobs people want to see created.
