I dont really understand all the hoo ha around this. But anyway, where does this “500” years figure come from?
The king 500 years ago was Henry VIII and he never met a Pope, nor did his father.
According to a good article by the Catholic Herald, the last English royal to pray with a Pope was in the 9th century (king Æthelwulf). That would make a better headline.
As an Anglican, good news!
Perhaps he’ll pray for the victims of trafficking and rape and the families of those affected by ‘suicide’
So are you saying… that would be an ecumenical matter?
