  1. Joanne Hodson worked at The Acorns School, in Ormskirk, where Axel Rudakubana was enrolled aged 13 after being expelled from mainstream education for taking a knife into classes. She told the public inquiry investigating his crimes that, from his first day, she realised he was ‘very high risk’. Ms Hodson described a ‘memorable’ first meeting when she asked Rudakubana why he had taken a knife into his previous comprehensive. ‘He looked me in the eyes and said “to use it”,’ she said. ‘This is the only time in my career that a pupil has said this to me or behaved in a manner so devoid of any remorse.’

  2. I have friends who are teachers. Almost every school has one of these “high risk of offending kids” and in every case the parents refuse to accept anything anybody tells them. Therapy might help the kid, but the parents always refuse.

It’s not that they think their kids is perfect, it’s because they refuse to accept any information that might reflect negatively on them. They take any concerns about their kid, as an attack on them.

  3. Often the case with parents, some will refuse to see what others do when it comes to their child.

  4. researchers need to be given access to psychos like this in prison, so they can better figure out how they form

  5. Why am I not surprised we’re hearing about this guy AGAIN, from the Daily Mail?

    It’s just “news”

  6. “Parents need to do x”

No, this article confirms that the parents didn’t do anything and countless teachers and educators can confirm this is the standard.

We need to give more powers to teachers and other non parents. A teacher should be able to report an individual is a risk and it’s taken seriously.

This lad was under 18 when he committed the horrific act we all know him for. Everything being treated as parental responsibility until the child turns 18 doesn’t work.
