“It’s uncomfortable” Fox guest admits Trump’s tariffs causing prices to RISE

Can I just go back to one thing on the small business side because my mom is in a small business. She imports from Canada. We’ve talked about this many times. Um it’s uncomfortable. It’s not been pleasant. Her pricing has gone up. Regardless of what’s been instituted or not, the anticipation of it has the suppliers bringing the prices

  1. The tariffs are designed to get favorable deals from foreign governments, and incentivize sourcing inside the US, not to lower prices. They are a long term ploy to correct the damage that has been done to the US economy for decades. Trump is being a real leader by taking an unpopular and risky move to actually try to solve a huge problem without kicking the can and making it worse like every other politician. The US is taking in record revenue, and yet the Fed refuses to lower rates like they should.

Although I can understand the good intentions of tariffs (making usa made products or companies thrive) the fact is, there are a lot of products just not made in america and all this has done is made costs skyrocket. It's just a tax on the consumer as that's who pays for it. It just doesn't seem well thought out.

  10. 🤦🏾‍♂️ Why are people so slow. Of course tariffs raises prices. The whole purpose of having tariffs is to charge the receiving country interest for not buying goods from country you live in. If someone in country can make the same product, that product would be cheaper. Unfortunately you have countries that don’t have to pay their employees so they can charge less for the same product an American is going to ask $15hr to make which would also up the cost.
