  2. I mean it’s pretty much unavoidable that the AppStore was a monopoly until recent EU rules iirc everywhere on iPhones and has massive market power on iPhones.

    If that has some benefits for consumers is another question.

    Folk buy iphones because they want the curated experience, if it’s not for you, fine, but being able to give a non tech savvie relative a safe device is worth a lot
