Transport Malta’s digital platform has been recognised at the UK’s Intelligent Transport System awards winning the Exporter of the Year prize.
Launched in June, TM Roads was created in collaboration with UK-based company Transport Research Laboratory to improve efficiency, collaboration and transparency in road works.
The platform is used by contractors and developers as well as all providers of critical infrastructure.
Announcing the award on social media, Transport Malta said the platform “will greatly improve the coordination of all roadworks carried out across the country”.
The system was rolled out over the summer following a series of workshops for stakeholders. Local councils and the public can also sign up and check on the status of roadworks in their area.
Transport Malta CEO Kurt Farrugia had hailed the platform as “one of the most advanced street works management systems in Europe”.
