He certainly does not care about his image. If he is doing any philanthropic work, it’s not well publicized.
Even if you take all his money it wouldn’t do anything to get rid of 38 trillion in deficit, or do any real big change anywhere, compared to the 1.5 million people Amazon employs and pays. I know they will replace 600k people with AI and robots but that is just the march of progress. Living in prosperity like this for all, means accepting progress.
It’s not possible without destabilizing the economy, bc most of their wealth is unrealized gains. Gonna keep this short –
The answer is tax on loans that are given against unrealized gains (non-cash). Should gains ever be realized, a nominal credit is given.
This is dumb. You tax billionaires out of existence, the next group of rich – those just below a billion now becomes the top dogs and they will do exactly the same thing that the billionaires did. You tax all the almost-billionaires out of existence, the next group of rich people will take their place. There is always going to be a select group of people with more money than everyone else. What is the point?
If you confiscate all the wealth from billionaires, totaling roughly $7 trillions. It wouldn’t make much of a dent to pay off our national debt, which totals $38 trillions. Heck, if you confiscate all the wealth from the ultra rich, upper class, upper middle class, and middle class; it still wouldn’t be enough.
