The King’s Guard are doing a serious job but if you don’t mess around they can be pretty reasonable.
There are a bunch of videos around of them letting people stand close or touch the horse if they are polite and reasonable about it.
Meanwhile, the amount of unreasonable people they have to deal with is immense. I’m sure I wouldn’t last a week in that job without totally losing my cool on some fool.
I’ve seen this before, as a Dad with a daughter who has some neurological issues, for some reason this is one of the most profound and special videos I think I have seen on Reddit.
Something very magical about it, the way the girl approached, the soldier’s nod, the horse turning to her and their gentle interaction, then the thank you at the end, followed by that little wave.
There are lines on the floor now that you can’t go past. Nobody touches the horses. Too many cunts fucking around.
The guard is not a tourist attraction, he is doing a job. While things were chill they allowed people to do things like stand next to them, maybe touch the horse. The horse is well trained but it will bite you, it will kick you.
The guard is not alone, his boss is just round the corner and will deal with anybody who gets out of line. Like that fat fuck last year that kept trying to grab the horse.
