  1. Discovered by the renowned geologist and merchant Eneasz Nasirski

  2. I would really like to know what host rock it is in. Because the usual suspect for copper in Europe is Kupferschiefer or copper slate. Which remaining deposits aren’t easy to access and remain untouched. Would be a surprise this is an exception.

Edit: i think i found it, since they talk about canadian investors. The deposits here are buried at 1.900m deep, which is quite deep for a completely new mine.

Their source also talks about the same company Miedzi.

After translating the source and looking into the competition, i think this is click bait pipedream. The total effective tax rate of 80% percent is mentioned as the biggest obstacle. The shallowest deposits lie 1.500m deep compared to 800m* for the competetive project in Thuringia. Without major subsidies this will lay underground forever. Btw. for the latter they expect at least 10 years till production, you can make up your own mind how long it would take for the former project which lies at least 700m deeper.

The more i read something from TVP the more i think it is yellow press like Bild in Germany.

*it’s 500m. So it is even worse for the gargantuan deposit.

  3. I wonder how many countries will voice “environmental concerns” if we start mining it

  4. The world runs on copper. Arguably more than oil as you need copper to make any and everything. Wiring in houses, computers, cars, mobile phones. Non would work without copper. Good on Poland to be self sufficient for the future.

  5. Fun fact, Poland is pretty copper rich. We are already by far the biggest producer in europe (if you exclude Russia).

  6. We ahoukd not touch this, wait till the demand will b3 higher and thwn make Poland rich.

The USA do not touch yheir resources too…. I think they know that they need to think about future besides regulations.

  7. Wait until a new EU regulation passes to make unexploitable.

  8. In a depth of 1900m.

Can this even be a profitable operation anywhere in Europe when the global competition has much cheaper labour costs and much easier reachable copper deposits?

  9. Too bad any exploitation will be blocked, it’s too environmentally unfriendly.
