The Montenegrin women’s senior football team won a friendly match against Croatia.
Mirko Marić’s team celebrated 3:1 after a great first half, in which they scored all three goals.
Montenegro took the lead in the 16th minute.
Andrea Janjušević passed from the right side, then crossed for Armisa Kuč, who headed the ball into the home team’s net.
About twenty minutes later, another goal was scored for Croatia, this time by Maša Tomašević who placed the ball into the far corner from ten meters.
Medina Dešić scored the third goal for our team after a bad reaction from the Croatian goalkeeper.
The final score was set in the 59th minute by Karla Kurkutović.
The same rivals will meet on Monday at noon in Dugopolje.
“We played a great first half, scored three goals, controlled everything. I can’t say that we routinely maintained a big lead, but despite Croatia’s initiative, our victory was never in question, and we had several situations that we could have ended with a fourth goal,” said Marić.
“In any case, the overall impression deserves a high rating. I am very satisfied with the attitude towards the game, all the girls entered with maximum responsibility and played the entire match. That is very important before competitive matches, such an approach is necessary. A nice win and because of self-confidence, we continued the positive trend of results. The second match is on Monday, we must not let this victory lull us. Every match is a new chance and a new proof, and our goal is to try to play the second match at this level, Marić emphasized.
