Data center boom straining power grid as New York asks who should pay

1. What a bizarre concept. The biggest companies in the world in a DC rush and there is even a discussion on subsidies or sharing the cost with the grid. As if these companies are not valued more than some of the states they are using to build them.

2. In any other situation in the entirety of human civilisation, the person using the product pays for it. If the data centres need electricity, the owners of those centres should pay for it. How is this difficult for them to understand?
