UK under pressure to strip Prince Andrew of titles, home after new Epstein revelations • FRANCE 24

Juay, who died by suicide this past April at the age of 41, has postumously published a book called Nobody’s Girl, in which she recounts the abuse she says she suffered at the hands of Epstein and his friend Prince Andrew. Juy writes that Prince Andrew felt that it was his birthight to have sex with her and that she was forced to do so three times, including when she was still a minor or just 17 years old. Accusations that Prince Andrew vehemently denies. When she came forward, she says Prince Andrew tried to keep her silent. She writes, “After casting doubt on my credibility for so long, Prince Andrew’s team had even gone so far as to try to hire internet trolls to hassle me. The Duke of York owed me a meaningful apology as well.” Ju sued Prince Andrew and in 2022 reached a confidential legal settlement. Chu Frey says she agreed to a one-year gag clause to avoid a scandal for the royal family during celebrations for the late queen’s platinum jubilee. The settlement included an undisclosed amount of money widely reported to be 12 million pounds or about£14 million as well as a personal statement from the prince. She writes, “We would never get a confession. Of course, that’s what settlements are designed to avoid, but we were trying for the next best thing, a general acknowledgement of what I’ve been through.” The British media report that the police are now looking into claims that Prince Andrew shared Ju’s date of birth and social security number in order to dig up dirt for a smear campaign. Just days before the book was due to be released, Prince Andrew announced he was giving up some of his royal titles, including the Duke of York. But he remains a prince, and the royal family is under growing pressure to completely strip him of his royal stature.

Buckingham Palace and the UK government faced calls on October 21, 2025, to strip Prince Andrew of his titles and home after new details emerged about his ties to Jeffrey Epstein. Andrew, after discussions with King Charles III, agreed Friday to stop using his Duke of York title amid ongoing public outrage.

  19. Andrew should be stripped of his titles. No longer have the use of Royal residences. Then, if he has any conscience, he should move out of the UK and stop being an embarrassment to the Royal family.

  20. Of course he should be stripped of his titles and his homes, I feel that he should be chucked out of UK. Look what they did to the king that abdicated because he loved a divorced woman (sound familiar) the royals shunned him, and he never lived in UK again.
