Sharing their perspective on Google Reviews, HEA commented: “This underrated gem compassionately captures all the horrors of war, for both the victors and the vanquished.
“The grievous losses suffered by each character are portrayed subtly and accurately – you can genuinely understand every character’s behaviors, actions, and motivations, even if you don’t agree with them.”
Sharon Mason described it as “mesmerising throughout”, continuing: “Sensitively written, it’s hard to know whom the main character will make a future with (if anyone) but the ending is the most poignant and moving I’ve seen in a long time.
“Quality film. Kiera Knightley gave her all in this film – best performance seen from her.”
