  1. Reddit administrators are bots. Type something that could be remotely considered violent and the bots will automatically remove and ban you. The appeal process is also bots.

  2. Would be interesting to see the proportion of removals by automod and other automated moderation tools.

  3. I barely comment on Reddit. Mostly I’ve been a lurker but recently I’ve started commenting a little more. I went back and looked and a large majority of my comments show as removed. They are just normal comments, not controversial or odd in any way. It’s so strange.

  4. As a mod, this chart is basically useless by including automod.

  5. Could you have picked 2 colors that are any more similar?

    This data is NOT beautiful

  6. Reddit mods have no power in the real world so they try and exercise it all online.

  7. I got banned for asking whether lead is toxic for ants from Reddit… the appeal made by a human just declined it…

  8. Lots of automod hate but some of the human mods loving donning their little Internet Police uniform.

One took my post down a couple of weeks ago and when I DMd to ask why they cited a sub rule that didn’t apply; when pressed further, they cited a particular phrase within that rule, which again didn’t apply. Thankfully these power-drunk nobodies are just the Internet Police and have no real bearing on anyone’s life.
