This is the chance to grind Russia down and really fuck them. We should take it. They have been destabilizing the globe and democracies all over. They deserve to suffer because of it.

3+ years into the war not to mention Im sure there are plenty of possible sanctions left. They dont want to war to end all that much.
Russia is going to employ tactical nuclear weapons against Ukraine. That’s a given.
More for China and India to buy. They have no morals .

I see no indication of HOW they plan to take it off the market outside of sanctions.
There’s an interesting (and infuriating) Planet Money podcast about Russia’s shadow fleet of oil tankers. Basically sanctions won’t work because Russia is using a fleet that’s legal enough to sail but shady enough to do things like swap oil from one tanker to another to hide where its coming from. Since nations aren’t actually stopping ships full of oil and relying on insurance companies to block oil shipments by denying insurance to ships delivering Russian oil, more sanctions will do little to nothing.
