I have a feeling they are going to tear out the bunker, I say that because of the cost of construction. Mind you I was an architectural major so I know a thing or three about this sort of thing.
Building is projected to cost 250m and be 90k s/f, that’s about $2,778 per s/f.
The average home in the US costs $120-$200; for perspective, the cost to build a 40 story high rise building is $900-$1500 per s/f.
However the cost to build a hardened bunker that can withstand a nuclear blast is roughly $2000-$2300 s/f. The presidential bunker was under the east wing, the same bunker he complained about last time he was taken down there because he was afraid of protesters during the black lives matter protests. He hated it said it wasn’t comfortable and couldn’t imagine spending any time in it.
I e tried to find a link to him saying this but it happened nearly 5 years ago and is impossible to find under the mountain of bullshit that’s happened since.
So if ya ask me the cost for this thing; and that’s assuming it doesn’t go over budget which we know it will, is giving away what his real intentions are. He’s going to either build a new bunker and/or add into the existing one.
