Israel resumes Gaza ceasefire • FRANCE 24 English

After a difficult couple of days, Gaza’s ceasefire appears to be back on track with US President Donald Trump insistent it still holds. Is the ceasefire still in place? Yeah, it is. Israel carried out a wave of strikes in the south of the Gaza Strip on Sunday in response, it says, to an attack that killed two of its soldiers. Terrorists fired an anti-tank missile and gunfire towards our troops operating in the area of Rafa to dismantle terrorist infrastructure. all in accordance with the ceasefire agreement. Now, in response, the IDF began striking in the area to eliminate the threat. The full context of the incidents leading to Sunday’s initial Israeli strikes on Rafa remains unclear. A Palestinian eyewitness said Hamas had been carrying out a strike against the leader of an Israeli backed militia. Hamas’s armed wing insisted it was abiding by the ceasefire agreement with Israel and said it had no knowledge of any clashes. Hamas affirms its commitment to the ceasefire agreement. The movement stresses that the Zionist occupation is the one that continues to violate the agreement and fabricate flimsy pretexts to justify its crimes. Trump’s vice president JD Vance said the lapse in the ceasefire was most likely down to rogue elements within the Islamist group. When we talk about Hamas, you’re talking about 40 different cells. It’s disjointed. Some of those cells will probably honor the ceasefire. Many of those cells, as we saw some evidence of today, will not. Uh we before we actually can ensure that Hamas is properly disarmed, that’s going to require, as we know, some of these Gulf Arab states to get forces in there to actually apply some some law and order and some security keeping on the ground. Later on Sunday, the Israeli military announced it had started resuming enforcement of the 10-day old ceasefire.

Gaza’s fragile ceasefire faced a major test Sunday after Israeli strikes killed militants in response to the deaths of two soldiers. Aid deliveries were briefly halted but are set to resume Monday, according to an Israeli official. The military later said it was once again enforcing the ceasefire. Over a week into the US-brokered truce, President Trump confirmed it remains in effect

  3. The peace agreement is all a lie from the USA and Israel to stop the protest against Israel around the World and get Hamas to release the last hostages.
    Once they got it, the USA gives Israel the green light to carry on killing and starving the Palestinian people.

  13. Why does Hamas and the Gazans violate what the Prophet Muhammed prohibits – The taking of hostages and the murder of unarmed civilians in Israel?

    The Prophet Muhammed set the etiquettes of fighting as follows: "Do not ask G_d to "meet your enemies in battle" and "Do not start a war". If you must fight, then strike only at those "combatants" who attacked you. Do not attack women, children, the elderly, or those retreating in their place of worship. Do not cut down trees or kill animals. Reference – The Clear Quran, page XIX.
