If you can’t afford hamburger than you choose tuna helper because you can usually get a can of tuna that’s probably the same price as hotdogs or cheaper.
I grew up eating hot dog in mac and cheese. Actually not bad. At least to kid palate.
Another one: Add yellow food coloring to crisco/shortening/lard to make it look like butter.
Don’t forget Bologna with mustard or mayo

I was watching a podcast recording, and the host read out loud an ad for some premium all natural dog food, tested by scientists and proven to be safe for humans to eat. Why would you give your dog food that’s unsafe for people?
It’s the closest thing I’ve encountered to “It’s Toasted!” (from the first episode of Mad Men).
ALL dog food is tested for human consumption. By law, it has to be safe for humans in case we suffer another Great Depression.
Try with 25 billion dollars worth of unsold soybeans
This being said, kraft Mac and cheese with cut up hot dogs is my favorite childhood food.
