  1. Only if high earners includes wealth. Otherwise, this would be yet another gift from working people to retirees.

  2. I have just one condition: define who and how this is paid for in the initiative itself.

  3. SP thinks money comes from trees apparently.

And trees are the ones earning well.

I‘m all for getting to spend the top1% a little more, but this will just be paid by people earning more than average again…

  4. The SP proposes something that the majority of voters want to hear, not what is economically useful

  5. Le gauchisme flinguera notre pays. Trouvons un moyen de réformer le système des assurances au lieu de toujours clamer « taxer les riches ». Evidement ça demande plus de réflexion que simplement dire taxons les riches. Ce parti me dépite.

  6. Absolute blunder of sp again
edit: sp will keep going at it till anyone that earns slightly above median salary (6900 month) will have no reason to work a tough job anymore and just settle with less because they take everything from you to distribute it with everyone else. Initiatives like this target hard working middleclass like they are a part of the top 1%.

Make marxism grest again! All while the sp leadership makes easily over 150k/year and are all property owners. What a fluke.

  7. Do I understand the initiative correctly: kids medical insurance will be free if the family belongs to the bottom 85% of earners?

  8. But the salary does not necessarely determine your wealth. 100k as a single person is a lot more than 130k when you are the breadwinner of a family of 4. I think we should rather reduce the catalogue, like Wegovy and all that crap should not be paid.

  9. It will not pass, because 50% of people think or hope that they will eventually end up in that top 15% eventually, as soon as you translate this in chf (130k salary). It’s basically anybody that imagines they might become manager in a company , or Senior Something Expert at some point in their career.

If it is not an additional tax for you now, it is a tax on future you, when you will be promoted and rewarded for all your current hard work.

Top1% is out of reach intuitively. Top 15% is not. It’s your boss, and everybody wants to be promoted.

Also, if anything, it should be based on household income (wealth even better), not single individual. Even better: raise VAT on cigarettes, vapes, alcohol, sugary foods and drinks.

  10. On the cover: But the children

Inside: Gifts to rich people who don’t work

  11. It’s not my fault that someone earns less and I earn more. I already pay progressive tax. Why should I pay even more?

  12. man these posts are always depressing

This is fucking healthcare that should be “free” for everyone, but especially for kids, how are people so against this even as an idea. The health insurance system is already deeply flawed and even things like this seem impossible because of the population

I agree that ideally it would be financed by wealth taxes instead of income taxes, and maybe the bracket could be higher but common, top 15% is not that low by definition.

Meanwhile there’s already people here complaining that they don’t want their taxes to go to lazy people. That’s what taxes and living in a society are for. You use a lot of shit that everyone contributed to as well.

Edit: Yes nothing is “free” but if it makes you people feel smart by pointing that out feel free to leave more comments replying to that while completely ignoring the rest of the point.

  13. “Let’s be like France. It’s working out so well for them”

  14. I feel like there has to be a way to solve the health insurance financial problem without making higher taxes. It’s only a matter of prioritizing on what we want to spend in the end.

  15. Fuck that. I’m sick of paying everybody else’s fees. I pay my children’s health insurance as well.

    It’s a fucking *insurance* that’s already cross-funded with taxes, not a wealth-redistribution mechanism.

  16. Why high-earners, why not high-wealth? As usual, those that contribute to society have to pay while the wealthy that sit on their ass enjoy their pension.

  17. All those who are saying that wealthy people who don’t earn should be taxed too(a legitimate point) would be voting for the taxes on large inheritances in the upcoming referendum. Right?

  18. In other news, SP wants to take money from those who already pay a hugely disproportionate amount of taxes and redistribute it.

And, of course, they’re taking that money to employed people, and give it to retired people, because the recent grifts are not enough (13 AHV, end of valeur locative, 6.8% maintained, etc).

Nothing like the good ol’ ways of socialists who never seem to think they’ll run out of other people’s money.
