Catherine Connolly, an independent td from Galway, is on course to secure the largest vote in Irish Presidential electoral history. She is also receiving the largest left wing vote in the history of the state.
For reference Connolly was supported by all parties on the left, including SF. Her opponents were Heather Humphrys of Fine Gael and Jim Gavin of Fianna Fáil. Due to a scandal Gavin withdrew from the race but after the nomination process ended, thus his name remained on the ballot.

Spoiled votes are at 150k already, a historic low 45% turnout, and 7% of people voting for Jim Gavin, the Irish people are pissed, you had to choose between 2 sh!t sandwiches, but one came with option to punish the government.
