Basically all of Edinburgh and the Lothians, that’s mad 😂
No Ayrshire allowed 😂
All of Renfrewshire/Inverclyde is out too
Is this just all of Scotland?
I will always recommend folk encountering this (particularly if you’ve bought and paid for something before being told/charged extra, or had orders cancelled because you won’t pay a hidden surcharge, or just cancelled because of where you live, and especially if it’s things you’re trying to order that could be considered essential, or disability related items) to speak to your citizens advice bureau, as it can be raised as a social policy issue and might result in a national or local campaign. They did one a few years ago about delivery charges. The issue seemed to improve where I lived for a while but a lot of companies seem to be doing this again.
Bathgate is an island now?
Wow just going for it across the whole of Scotland 😅😅 I’ve found a few places lump all the PA postcodes together, meaning my postcode (literally 5mins from Glasgow Airport) is considered by their systems to be “highlands and islands” because the Isle of Bute also has a PA postcode 🤦♀️🤦♀️
Aberdeen entered the chat…….
And no Falkirk area
Come, join the Highlands and Islands in suffering

Get this *all the time* in Argyll and Bute! And if my son (on an island) wants something big he gets it delivered to me – assuming they’ll deliver here! I think John Lewis is the notable exception for islanders.
They’ll go all the way to Dundee but Forfar and Arbroath are beyond their means, alas.
The entire postcode system is entirely bollocks and needs a major review.
I had this from M&S a couple of months ago when trying to order a food gift for my Mam’s birthday (KW postcode). Ended up getting her one from Fortnum & Mason, which seemed mad given the distance but she was delighted with it.
Nothing in Inverness or north, no Orkney Islands, PH1 is Inverness-shire, Fort William etc, HS1 is Stornoway.. guess Scotland can get bent then??
Had this with the village butcher website. Allegedly deliver to the whole mainland UK, deliver to Edinburgh but not Aberdeen.
My wife was featured on Rip-off Britain Live about 8 years ago. There’s a big campaign every few years and nothing gets done, ever. The Highlands are part of the mainland and the courier companies should understand that.
It’s actually cheaper to send something from Glasgow to Cornwall than to Fort William.
Which website is this? So I know to avoid it!
And ML… that’s wild. I’m 2 mins off M74… they would literally have to drive past my house to get to some of the areas they do deliver too
They dont deliver to Paisley postcodes?
I’ve never seen one of these that doesn’t deliver to Glasgow, thats mental
I ordered a Slouch office chair – free delivery for the entire UK! – they cancelled the order as live in Western Isles. Apparently not the UK. Good to know.
AB10 is Aberdeen City Centre btw.
Oh the irony lol
Not just Scotland – TD15 is (mostly) in England.
Inverness enters the chat
I think it’s time to test that unrivalled customer support
So the borders is too difficult, as is most of Scotland.
I assume that the A1 must be blocked again or Hadrians Wall has been rebuilt.
Dunoon is PA and nothing gets delivered here that doesn’t arrive in Inverness first.
I’ve ordered from these guys to one of the excluded postcodes. They used Tuffnells which went belly up, and as I understand it are one of the few that do longer delivery vans to accommodate long items like skirting
As someone from the Borders (TD) what the actual fuck???
Well, thank God Dundee can get a delivery
I’ve literally had the same issue trying to get bath panels today. I do live on an island so I get not being able to post direct here etc, but they won’t deliver to anywhere on the mainland near me. I’ve had eBay sellers etc claim Royal Mail won’t post to us and Ive had to tell them I actually work at the post office here…
One site said “delivers to all mainland uk. But not the highlands.” 🙃 I forgot the highlands are not attached to the mainland
On amazon, sharpie wouldn’t deliver a pen to the islands….
It’s complete crap, how is posting a pen to the islands any different than sending to the mainland
Ah yes I love it when they tell me that Aberdeen is in the Highlands and Islands

Skirting the whole of Dumfries and Galloway too
Most of Dundee is good though.
You might find [delivery law UK](https://www.deliverylaw.uk/info/6/consumer_information) useful.
Why is Fife Ok? But Edinburgh isn’t?
You have to go past Edinburgh, to get to Fife.
