Pakistan, however, did not give any official reason behind the move. Defence experts believe that it could be linked to a military exercise or weapon test. At the same time, experts are looking at it by linking it to the military exercise ‘Trishul’. The exercise will take place near Sir Creek, i.e. in the area bordering Pakistan.
Defence analyst Damien Simon said the exercise will cover an altitude of 28,000 feet, according to satellite imagery. Which is one of the largest military operations in recent years
30,000 soldiers to gather at Pakistan border
The biggest military exercise to date will be conducted for 12 days at the India-Pakistan border in Rajasthan. 30,000 soldiers from the Army, Air Force and Navy will participate in joint exercises in the Thar.
The exercise will begin from October 30 and continue till November 10. During this military exercise, commercial flight routes may be altered in some border areas.
The exercise will extend from the Jaisalmer area to the Sir Creek region in Gujarat. Recently, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh discussed the Sir Creek border dispute during his Gujarat visit.
Through this, warnings have been issued for flights in the western air corridor. During this time, there may be route changes in this area for commercial flights.
After Operation Sindoor, vigilance increased, focus on drone attacks
Drone activities and infiltration attempts from Pakistan have increased during the recent Operation ‘Sindoor’ on the western border.
Therefore, this exercise will specifically test modern technologies like counter-drone systems, communication jamming and automatic spectrum monitoring systems.
Apart from this, the Air Force will pay special attention to precision strikes, air defense interception, and multi-domain operations
All three forces will test new technology and warfare systems
All three forces will practice unified operations, deep strikes, and multi-domain warfare while establishing coordination together.
During this, the Indian Army will also test many of its new indigenous weapons and high-tech systems. These will include T-90S and Arjun tanks, Howitzer artillery, Apache attack helicopters, and heavy-lift helicopters.
This exercise will start from Jaisalmer and extend to Kutch. The Kutch area is near the sea, so Air Force and Navy special aircraft will work together in this area.
High-tech testing of drones, missiles and electronic warfare
The capabilities of UAVs (drones), precision-guided missiles, loiter munitions, and electronic warfare systems will be tested during the exercise. The exercise will also serve as a major platform to test the readiness and coordination of the Southwestern Air Command.
Rajnath Singh had discussed Sir Creek
During his visit to Gujarat in early October, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh discussed the Sir Creek border dispute. He said, “India has repeatedly attempted to resolve it through dialogue, but Pakistan’s intentions are murky.”
The Defense Minister said, “The recent expansion of Pakistan’s military infrastructure in the areas adjacent to Sir Creek reveals its intentions. If Pakistan dares to act, it will receive a resounding response that will change both history and geography. The Mahagujraj exercise has brought this area back into the spotlight.”
