“UpOnly” podcast host and well-followed cryptocurrency investor Jordan Fish may be set to make more per episode than Joe Rogan does with the “Joe Rogan Experience” podcast.

Coinbase (NASDAQ:COIN) on Monday spent $25 million on a non-fungible token to revive the “UpOnly” podcast for eight more episodes. The deal could see Fish, better known as Cobie in cryptocurrency circles, earn over $1.5 million per episode, assuming he shares the proceeds equally with co-host Brian Krogsgard.

While that figure does not include potential production costs, the bottom line is likely to still exceed the $800,000 Rogan is estimated to make per JRE episode.

“Whos Joe Rogan,” Fish posted on X on Tuesday as blockchain-based prediction market Polymarket highlighted the implications of Coinbase’s NFT purchase.

“UpOnly,” which was previously sponsored by defunct cryptocurrency exchange FTX, last aired on Dec. 2, 2022, a month after the exchange collapsed.

It is unclear if Fish ever seriously intended to restart the podcast. He said in May that the “UpOnly” NFT price was set “too big for anyone to buy even as a joke.”

“Ah man wtf,” he initially said in response to news that Coinbase had purchased the NFT.

“Sir you should fire whoever approved this,” he said in response to confirmation of the move from Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong.

“It has been 3 years since up only ended,” Fish said in a separate X post. “I was in my 20s when it started, now I have grey hair. We will rename it Unc Only and I will spend $25m on cosmetic surgery. See ya soon.”

Meanwhile, Coinbase’s “UpOnly” NFT purchase is only a small part of a much larger deal. Alongside the “UpOnly” NFT, the Coinbase on Tuesday acquired Fish’s community-based cryptocurrency fundraising platform Echo for approximately $375 million, including cash and stock.

“Today, founders often struggle to raise capital and individual investors don’t have the opportunity to invest in private token sales,” Coinbase said, adding that it would be leveraging Echo to solve these problems for founders and investors.
