Come one, come all and step right up! We got soybeans, and our leader isn’t completely unhinged!
Love me some Canada.. ; )
Good. Diversify away from The Pedophile In Chief
He’s making moves and people still will say F carney.
Canada is the reliable one. It’s their key partner that isn’t.
“I am not America, I am not Trump”
“Sold. Supersize my softwood lumber, and throw in some potash for dessert.”
Canada needs an independent foreign policy. That single incident during Trump’s first term with the Huawei CFO set us back years while Canada was left holding the bag. If the US cannot stop behaving like a bully towards its own allies, then allies need to take their business elsewhere.
At this point you don’t even have to pitch it when the alternative is a bright orange toddler felon pedophile.
It’s the truth. He pitching a perfect game.
partner to sell what exactly?
Right up until Trumpster tells that country…”If you deal with Canada, you can’t deal with me”
Read that headline quick and thought he was going to be pitching for the blue jays.
Let’s do this. Chinese cars in Canada. Manufacturing. Critical mineral partnership.
I thought they were announcing mark Carney was throwing out the first pitch tonight. Let’s Go Blue Jays.
You go Prime Minister, any deal with virtually any body else is a safer, more reliable and honest contract than anything you sign on to with the Frlon
Suck China’s throbbing dick, Canada. Ten seconds ago you were standing up to them. Try standing on your own
He needs to drop the tariffs on Chinese EVs
He’s just doing his job as PM of Canada. It’s the logical thing to do, especially under the circumstances.
Considering Canada was literally about to elect their own Trump type leader nobody buys it.
im watching hockey right now and I just realized how long it has been since I heard polliviere bitch about the cbc
If only we in the US had an intelligent, respected, common sense, free trade leader like Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney.
Come on Carney, I want to see some deals happening, and happening quickly.
F him! His party took canada to the ground and now his going with his begging bowls to Asia. How times have changed.
Might as well since half of India is already in Canada
float a rumour that can is withdrawing from norad and will allow chinese bases in canada (the us is foreign bases now )
the largest undefended border will now give them fits, and only themselves to blame
And he goes about doing the business with no fanfare and not showing cards. Doing what Canadians asked him to do – Protect Canadian interests. This global trade game is changing daily. Vote him out when it’s over – but this is the adult we need on the world stage for Canada right now!
The reader might be forgiven for thinking from the headline this is currently “a hard sell”. In fact Canada and ASEAN have already stated an intent to finish their free trade & economic partnership agreement for a hopefully early 2026 date, and had 3 bilateral negotiating rounds just this year towards that outcome.
After that report 2 more rounds have been undertaken (July & Sept).
Secondly Canada just executed a direct major FTA with ASEAN member Indonesia two months ago. The rest of the countries in the region do not want to be left behind.
And Canada enjoys good relations with almost most of the countries in ASEAN (Myanmar & Cambodia are possible exceptions) and has large expat Philippine and Vietnamese communities spread across the entirety of Canada. It is generally considered a southeast asia friendly country rather than one where the locals hate on people from the ASEAN members.
Canada has 1-2 naval vessels (typically frigates) stationed in this region constantly running patrols along with maritime patrols by the Canadian Air Force.
So hard sell? No. I do think Carney would like to walk away from the ASEAN meetings with something concrete in hand for “propaganda” purposes but Canada exports to ASEAN members increased over 9% in 2024 and probably are on path for as larger or larger an increase in 2025. If they could blow the door open in 2026 all the better for both sides.
On queue with his uncovered Chinese Communist collusion prior to elections
Another day thankful he’s our Prime Minister. This is what was great about Harper — constantly selling Canada to the world. No spotlight, just patriotism at its finest form, of service and duty, not fandom.
Has Anyone Seen The World Series Commercial With The God Father of The Republican Party,
‘Ronald Reagan’!!! Talking About How Tariff’s Will Absolutely Kill Jobs And The Economy!!! Because Bullying Trade Partners is A Seemingly Short Term Fix That Will Inevitably Lead To Disaster!!!
As more and more time passes, other countries are realizing that America isn’t necessarily all that important as a trading partner, especially having to jump through every hoop that Trump demands and changes like he changes his socks
I want a Chinese EV now built in Ontario
Australia should switch all of our US trade to Canada, Commonwealth stick together.
I want to see the Chinese navy in Halifax Bay.
Good. Can’t trust America.
I drive a Chinese car a polestar 2 from Geely and it’s extremely excellent. Very well made, super high quality construction, durable. A fantastic car. We’ve done massive damage to Saskatchewan and rape seed farmers across this country protecting America with this ludicrous tariffs on Chinese EVs. Getting even more insane. If you buy a new model 3 in Vancouver, it likely came from the Shanghai factory! So we’re destroying Canadian farmer’s livelihoods so the richest man in the world can make cars in china and ship them here? Drop the tariffs. Open trade. I’d love to see xiaomi or huawei as American alternatives and I’d actually much rather have my data in china than in America. There’s no valid arguments for what we’ve done other than bending over backwards to appease the Americans who are no longer our allies. Enough. Open the markets. Crush stellantis and ford. Crush apple. Open up competition. No special relationship? No special trade barriers.
I wish Carney to say that we design chips better than Taiwan and China. We design fighter jets from scratch, we invest in new airplane engines, deeper collaboration and integration with Europe space program, we invest in electric railroads, etc.
