More Americans are supporting President Donald Trump’s handling of the conflict in Israel after he negotiated a ceasefire deal in Gaza.

But a new Associated Press-NORC poll shows that despite Trump’s global affairs, his approval ratings for his overall job performance, including managing domestic issues, is still low.

The poll was conducted between Oct. 9-13 before the hostages and prisoners were released in Israel, but after the ceasefire deal was announced.

Respondents disapprove of Trump’s handling of economy, immigration, health care

The poll found that Americans don’t believe that President Donald Trump is doing well on domestic issues, including on immigration. Only 4 in 10 people say they approve of the way he’s managing immigration.

Additionally, only 33% of Americans favor Trump’s performance with the economy, while just 3 in 10 respondents support his leadership on health care. Among political parties, most Democrats say they disapprove of Trump’s work on health care, compared to 8 in 10 independents and 33% of Republicans. 

Most Americans believe the country is going in the wrong direction

Local perspective:

Roughly 7 in 10 Americans believe things in the U.S. are heading in the wrong direction, while Republicans are less likely to say the country is headed in the wrong direction, but Democrats and independents views have not changed, according to the poll.
