The Lib Dems were the clear winners in last night’s election.
As much as Labour supporters like to write the LDs off as “redundant”, the local election highlights that a large chunk of the UK public supports their mix of centre-right economic policies, and center-left social policies.
It is FPTP that holds the Lib Dems back in general elections. Not a lack of potential voters.
Depressing.
As a usual labour supporter, Hull’s council were truly dogshit. Complacent in their positions, not achieving much while bringing the worst traffic problems to the city since the 70s.
Not really a comment on labour as a whole but on Hull City Council.
This doesn’t put the distaste in my mouth that a Tory changeover would.
