Hull local election results 2022: Lib Dems end Labour’s 10-year rule

  1. The Lib Dems were the clear winners in last night’s election.

As much as Labour supporters like to write the LDs off as “redundant”, the local election highlights that a large chunk of the UK public supports their mix of centre-right economic policies, and center-left social policies.

It is FPTP that holds the Lib Dems back in general elections. Not a lack of potential voters.

  2. As a usual labour supporter, Hull’s council were truly dogshit. Complacent in their positions, not achieving much while bringing the worst traffic problems to the city since the 70s.

Not really a comment on labour as a whole but on Hull City Council.

This doesn’t put the distaste in my mouth that a Tory changeover would.

  3. To all you ‘oh leftists have to vote for labour’ idiots, clearly we don’t. We CAN have responsible, competent politicians if you stop voting for incompetent, immoral dinosaurs like the conservatives and labour.

YOU are the only ones on the left allowing the tories free reign. Get your head out of your arses and vote for the right parties, the rest of us will not ever vote for shit parties with shit policies.

  4. Wow, what a disaster for Labour. I hope they are beginning to understand that they can only win with the Lib Dems, not against them.
