I know you get this question asked all the time, but I just need to ask for a clear state of mind. Whole train cancelled from Basel to Duisburg. Can I take any train from Basel to Duisburg now? Or after 12:20, when I wouldve originally started this journey. Thanks

If you bought a Sparpreis ticket with Zugbindung, meaning that this ticket was only valid for this train, then I think yes.

When you open the Journey information itself, you can see something like (Use any train) with a green symbol on the left. If that’s the case. You can use any train on that day, usually
In short: yes. Any DB train from Basel to Duisburg today, you don’t have to wait till after the original departure time.

Yes. But it does not apply to trains with mandatory reservation in place (e.g. French TGV) or private companies (e.g. Flixtrain).
