  1. SS: Russia successfully tested the nuclear-powered Burevestnik cruise missile, capable of carrying nuclear weapons, according to President Vladimir Putin. The missile has drawn particular attention from arms control and intelligence experts, partly because of the technology but also its past failures.

    Putin’s announcement comes as the New START treaty, which limits U.S. and Russian nuclear forces to 1,550 strategic warheads and 700 strategic launchers deployed on each side, is set to expire early next year.

  2. Isn’t this a waste of money? They already have the capability to blow the world up tenfold.

  3. Russia has been really leaning into the nuclear wunderwaffen lately with Oreshnik, Poseidon, and this new Burevestnik missile.

    Not sure it’s a good use of investment but it does seem to play well domestically.
