  1. >Airline says singer’s defiant interview breached its policy on politically sensitive or controversial subjects

Fair do’s, but I’m not sure you sponsor Louis Theroux if you’re afraid of politically charged topics.

  2. > the content clearly breaches our sponsorship policy in relation to politically sensitive or controversial subject matters.

Have they never heard of Louis Theroux before? The man that interviewed white supremacists, nazis, westboro baptist, Israeli settlers, and paedophiles. Done programs on transgender children, porn and prostitution etc.

  3. Best thing Bob Vylan did for his career was chant “death to the IDF” have these sponsors never heard of the Streisand Effect?

  4. I thought the Theroux interview was quite searching and made Bobby Vylan come across pretty badly really, pretty ill informed, with pretty intellectually unexplored political views but with the kind of empathy hole that only the self-righteous posses.

In his defence pretty articulate but in a talking bollocks confidently way.

  5. Damn didn’t realise British Airways were absolute freaks.

Louis Theroux interviews anyone and has mainstream popularity.

  6. First paragraph:

    >British Airways has halted its sponsorship of Louis Theroux’s podcast over an interview with the frontman of Bob Vylan.

Second paragraph says exactly the same thing:

    >The airline has withdrawn its adverts from the journalist’s podcast after he interviewed Bobby Vylan

  7. This is so bizarre considering the sort of people Theroux normally interviews. Surely they realise him interviewing someone doesn’t mean he automatically condones that person.

The sinister thing about this is this implies BA thinks Bob Vylan is worse than the Westboro church and paedophiles. And in a perverse logic loop, Israeli settlers

  8. Imagine thinking Louis Theroux is controversial. This whole silencing any critique of Israel is really really getting out of hand.

  9. Fine. If that’s what they want to do, let them. As long as the podcast is still out there then another brand will jump at the opportunity to endorse him I’m sure. Louis is known for picking controversial figures and this is no different.
