If you guys are thinking about going to Iris from Bergen but not willing to stay overnight in Rosendale, yes doing the round trip, on the same day, by car from Bergen is definitely doable.
I thought a lot about it before organizing my trip and in the end i’m happy I went there by car. The ride was enjoyable, landscapes are beautiful, it’s hilly but the road is not too narrow.

I went there in late October, means it was bot icy or snowy though.
