On Friday 24th October I got asked to appear on ITV's this morning in a segment about Retro Tech with Dan Hatfield.

I have never been on TV before, so I was super nervous, but it went well and I really enjoyed the experience.

  1. I hope you took a photo of your experience using a game boy

  2. Nice one!

(Also good to see that you apparently have the gigantic angular gun of Chuck de Nomolos from Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey on display to your right.)

  3. It took me far too long to realise your the guy on screen rather than just you flicked on to itv and just survived watching.

  4. It’s quite depressing to think that I can remember a lot of that from my childhood. If you have a Hostess trolley in the kitchen, I’m going to go and sit in a darkened room for the rest of the day.

  5. I was off work and watched this! You came across really well. What you said about old sound systems and tape decks was interesting.

  6. Claim to fame! Now you can list yourself as “as seen on TV”

  7. I respect the retro future outfit the host is wearing. Looks like something from Star Trek the Motion Picture or Logan’s Run.

  8. Can I applaud the retro wallpaper to go with the tech!

  9. I really hope it was actually retro and not PlayStations and Gameboys!

The reel to reel behind you gives me confidence:)

  10. I had to sell all my old Commodore computers recently. I shall dearly miss them.

  11. Did you get a pleasant adrenaline comedown afterwards? The pressure is off, you’ve done well and the production team were pleased. It’s a nice feeling.

  12. I know the feeling.

I was their men’s underwear expert a good few years back (when it was Phil & Fern) and had to go to the studio and had never been on TV before.
It’s very nerve wracking sitting in the green room waiting to go on and saying hello in passing to Phil and all I could think of was where is Gordon..
Is your section anywhere? I’d love to watch it.
EDIT: Ok can watch on itvx

  13. Did anyone else read the title, then finish it with “…, which was nice.”?

  14. Holy shit, from Goole? I’m surprised I don’t know you to be honest.
