In Moldova, the possibility of appointing the former Moldovan ambassador to Ukraine, Valeriy Kiveriu, to the position of Deputy Prime Minister for the reintegration of Transnistria is being considered.

According to reports, the prime minister-designate Alexandru Munteanu published on his social media the latest staffing decisions regarding his team.

Staff appointments and key figures

According to the publication, Valeriy Kiveriu has been proposed for the position of Deputy Prime Minister for the reintegration of Transnistria.

Also Munteanu named Eugen Osmocescu as head of the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization, who has experience working with the EU, the World Bank, and the OECD.

For the position of finance minister, Adriana Gavriliu is being discussed, whom Munteanu described as a specialist with over 20 years of experience in the economic sector.

As a reminder, last week Moldova’s President Maia Sandu officially nominated businessman Alexandru Munteanu for the post of prime minister, who has lived in Ukraine for more than 20 years.

These staffing moves indicate the future government’s intention to focus on reintegration processes in the region, as well as on forming a team capable of leading key economic and institutional reforms.
