This country seems so far behind on mental health and helping people with these issues. So sad.
This is so important. There isn’t enough help out there and it’s so difficult to get adequate care. Issues are brushed off. During the first lockdown, I had an abortion. I had to fight for this as I can’t take the medication that is usually used and therefore require a surgical abortion. I was offered no help with the impact of this. When I said I was struggling, I was basically told I’d asked for it and I should be fine. It dismissed why I’d needed an abortion and what I’d had to go through to get one.
I’m also a lone mum. It’s difficult and stressful at times. There isn’t enough support out there.
It is truly scary how some mothers essentially have a mental breakdown after birth and behave or think in ways that would warrant them being Sectioned.
There’s an entire lack of mental health support for anyone unless you have the money to spend on private and even that’s limited.
We need to talk about everyone’s mental health. The total lack of even basic services is a national problem
I think it’s a symptom of nuclear families here.
In countries where extended families are the norm, there’s generally more help and support for the mother after childbirth.
We need help for all mental health conditions.
Ehh excuse me!…The Conservatives don’t need to ware masks anymore…so get back in your luny bins you mental plebs!
