Rail fares could soar by 12 per cent amid inflationary spikes

  1. Orrrrr

the UK Gov could just subsidise fares further like every other European country. Basically all the franchises are back under Gov control right now, no reason not to.

  2. How do they expect the public to be more economical when trains cost more than driving+parking?

Train to London cost me £60 with a railcard. The same trip in a car is about £25.

I’m all about the environment and reducing emissions, and I take public transport when I can, but I can’t afford these costs anymore. I’m going to buy my first car soon and should be saving over £100 per month.

    Edit: added more info
