FRIDAY, OCT. 17
• 1:49 p.m. — Emergency medical services responded to a crash on Highway 20 just east of the Highway 34 junction involving a GMC Sierra pulling a camper trailer that had swerved off the road to avoid hitting a school bus. According to the Benton County Sheriff’s Office, no injuries were reported. See the related entry in the BCSO Log for more information.

SATURDAY, OCT. 18
• 11:35 a.m. — Firefighters responded to a report of a pressurized gas leak in the 2600 block of Newton Street. Upon arrival, crews entered the structure and noticed the smell of natural gas. The gas was shut off and the gas company notified.

SUNDAY, OCT. 19
• 7:58 a.m. — Firefighters responded to a report of a wildfire in the 26000 block of McFarland Road near Monroe. The dispatch was canceled en route by Monroe Rural Fire after it had been determined the fire was a controlled burn.

• 9:55 p.m. — Firefighters responded to the activation of a fire alarm in the 3100 block of Main Street.

THURSDAY, OCT. 23
• 7:58 p.m. — Firefighters responded to a report of a possible structure fire in the 2400 block of Newgate Drive. Upon arrival, the crew found a backyard burn pile that had been ignited after burn hours for the day. The property owner, who used a tractor to spread out the pile and extinguished it with a fire hose, was advised of steps to take prior to burning.
