The gala for the Immigration Resource Center of San Gabriel Valley (IRCSGV) is its annual fundraiser supporting its work.

The Monrovia-based nonprofit will welcome West Coast Latin ensemble Gabrielito y La Verdad at its “Stand With Our Neighbors” gala from 5:30 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, at the Monrovia Historical Museum, 742 E. Lemon Ave., Monrovia.

Gabrielito y La Verdad features world-class musicians led by Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter Gabriel González. The 11th annual event will also feature a catered meal, open bar, silent auction and testimony from center clients about their immigrant journey.

“The Immigration Resource Center of San Gabriel Valley stands as a beacon for all immigrants from all over the world seeking a better life, meaningful work and a welcome place in the community,” said Jean Grant, director of development and strategic partnerships for the center. “We provide a safe and affordable place for immigrants to get free and low-cost legal services, referrals to human services like food, medical and rent assistance and accompaniment to court appointments. From the time an immigrant enters our doors, they are welcomed with not only professionalism, but kindness and individualized care.

Proceeds from the gala will support center services. Tickets are $175.

The center has been at the forefront of pro-immigrant rallies and events in the wake of the Trump administration’s ramped up immigration enforcement, which began in June.

Speaking at the event will be the Rev. Francisco Garcia, director of the immigrant advocacy group Sacred Resistance, part of the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles.

The center’s mission is to help local, foreign-born non-U.S. citizens to comply with immigration laws and empowers them to provide for themselves and their families, Grant said. The center is an extension of Mountainside Communion church and community partners and was founded in 2014.
