Princess Catharina-Amalia showed some serious royal recycling style! 👑
At Amsterdam’s 750th anniversary celebration on October 27, the Princess of Orange wore a gorgeous emerald green dress that both her mother, Queen Máxima, and grandmother, Princess Beatrix, had worn before.
She paired the vintage dress with a long black Max Mara coat. Beatrix first wore the dress in 1981 during a state visit to Belgium, and Máxima brought it back in 2014 for a Freedom Concert.

I had to look and see why the dress is markedly better on Princess Beatrix.
Princess Beatrix: 5’4″
Queen Máxima: 5’10”
Princess Catharina-Amalia: 5’9″
The sleeves are far too short on both Queen Máxima and Princess Catharina-Amalia and the midi hemline doesn’t really work with the shape of the skirt. It should be floor length the way Princess Beatrix wore it. Oh, well; I guess this is why it’s easier to pass down jewels instead of dresses.
I love this! The dress has a great retro feel.
To quote Fashion Critical, the fraggles!
