Those brave soldiers died in the trenches so foreign cultures could arrive and take our homes and jobs?
That doesn’t sound like message of ww1 at all. You should be ashamed weaponising the poppy like that, the reformers weren’t the ones burning them, remember?
Another dumb lefty post
Shameful post you should be embarrassed
I need to see if any Reform MPs are wearing a Poppy, so we can further solidify their bullshit.
What is this even supposed to mean?
This kind of division and rhetoric is only causing people to divide.
Plus considering the page had said this was a neutral page to post i find it rich that they allow posts like this.
Doesn’t matter your political views, don’t spread shit like this because you disagree with people.
We’ve all had loved ones and family members who have served in not only the world wars but present wars.
I condemn the person who made this.
(FYI I’m neutral politically so idgaf what you believe)
But shitting on people about fallen soldiers is a disgrace to yourself and your family, take this shit down before you cause more disgrace
“Lest we forget” was originally about not forgetting that God is the source of our success…
Ironically…people have forgotten what it used to mean.
Bit confused at this one mate
British fascists ironically take the credit for “defeating fascism” but act and say things that make them sound like fascists. Its always the ones forcing the poppy as well
This meme sounded better in your head
English plz
I took it to mean that it’s a performative gesture without any real heartfelt sentiment or thought behind it.
People who don’t get this meme-
“Lest we forget” is a symbolic statement against militarism, repeating past mistakes, and remembering those who died in the World Wars.
Famously, WW2 led to the defeat of a nasty fascism in Europe which led to mass deportations, injuries and deaths of minorities.
Now, Reform’s influence is whipping up a new wave of “nasty nationalism” with fascist characteristics.
“Mass deportations”, even of law-abiding people, are now touted as “normal policy” when it’s really just a step on the road to historical evil.
This is such a dogshit post lol
Awaiting for the faux outrage when Starmer forgets to wear his, the way Ed Davey places his wreath, or James McClean refusing to wear one. Before you know it, ‘they are cancelling Christmas’ will be upon us.
love me 10 year old fading giant red poppy on me german car
The amount of commenters who do not get this is so depressing.
WW1 wasn’t about right winging or fascism STFU.
Has this page been taken over by those massive turbo thundercunts that sit in the likes of The Paul Hamlyn Foundation or any of the other ‘back door politician’ NGOs trying their utmost to destabilise this country?
Reform voters are the majority of the people that wholly support our armed forces. They haven’t burnt poppies or desecrated war memorials. They also see our flag as something to be proud of.
Also, the men who fought in the war and for this country would be quite concerned with the state of what’s going on right now. Would anyone here that sees Reform as Nazis fight for the UK?
I doubt it.
The translation software in Russia needs some work
Literally no idea what this is supposed to mean.
The problem with this and other things like it is that both sides, left and right won’t talk to each other and find common ground, not a battle ground but common ground. Instead both sides shout slurs and insults (often without fully understanding the meaning of the insult/slur) whether you believe in open borders or nationalism we should be able to coexist, and to some extent get along! Nationalist are not Nazis, they’re people who think that native populace should be first, and liberals are not all blue haired antifa, they’re people who believe in equality for all.
As for my views I hold the center, but like a lot of the population in the great United Kingdom I feel that the more the left shout fascism and Nazi the more I’m going to steer away from them.
Let’s get back to focusing on the country and ALL of its people. Remember that all people of this great nation are equal and deserving of respect and entitled to different opinions!
Using our war dead now, fuck sakes.
Let’s not welcome fascism in through the ballot box! Use your vote wisely to keep the far right, Reform company out!
Just like communism and socialism, you can have different interpretations of nationalism and conservatism. The men and women who defeated Hitler, whilst being economically socialist, would have you spitting at them and calling them fascists if they were alive today for their nationalistic view of patriotism.
The wartime generation would not be on your side.
Godzilla had a stroke trying to read this and fucking died
Isn’t it kinda ironic that it’s not considered far right to say “if it wasn’t for the soldiers that died in the war, we’d all be speaking German” but if you suggest preservation of your native culture in other context it is?
So so true. We often see the reform nobs giving the nazi salute and then profess their undying patriotism to our flag. My great grandad died at the Somme, I wonder what he would make of them.
Reform voters buy a poppy and then make it last for 3 years but claim to donate each year.
On one hand I want Royal British Legion to make as much money as possible. On the other, you’re right in that nobody who adheres to any flavour of fascism has any business wearing one.
The poppy as a symbol honours all who have fought and died serving our country from World War I to the present day.
The post suggests reform voters have forgotten what our service men and women died for, protecting our nation from tyranny and militarisation of all kinds, including nazism.
In the 1930s Hitler convinced the German people that all their nations troubles were caused by a small out group, namely the Jews, Gypsies & other ethnic groups. This is very similar to the narrative we are being sold today in the UK, that all our problems are caused by immigrants.
Stories of immigrants committing crimes, over claiming benefits, or otherwise transgressing are used to support this deception. Whereas the numbers of white UK nationals committing such crimes and acts is easily 100 times greater than this. But we don’t hear about those stories, because they don’t generate clicks, or stir up social media interest to generate revenue. Anger generates clicks, so do arguments online, which drives posts higher generating more clicks and more arguments, between left and right, creating a polarised society that doesn’t know who or what it is supposed to stand for any more, and nobody can take it and they are all going mad, but hang on it must be the immigrants fault, it must be the small boats, if someone took real action to stop them we could be England again and we would be happy. Wouldn’t we? Would we? Or is it a narrative, the same narrative the nazis used to gain power.
Immigrants are not the reason the UK is fucked. We are the reason. We are the reason because we keep letting billionaires and tin pot would be dictators manipulate our minds and emotions. They give us an enemy, someone to focus on so we don’t look at them and work out what they are doing. The enemy they give us is always weak, far away or intangible.
Think critically, ask yourself why are we being told the stories we are being told? Who is benefitting? Who stands to gain power? Who is making money from it? Don’t over think that which is obvious. If it looks like fascism…
And remember, those who fail to learn the lessons of history, are doomed to repeat them.
The poppy’s about those who died for free speech, not for your echo chamber.
