The road to Vienna is officially underway for Luxembourg! This weekend, RTL City hosted the much-anticipated auditions for the Luxembourg Song Contest 2026; the national selection that will determine who will represent the Grand Duchy at Eurovision 2026.

Who Will Represent Luxembourg at Eurovision 2026? Auditions Wrap Up in RTL City

A total of 58 artists stepped into the spotlight, performing 83 original songs in hopes of securing a place in the televised final, which will take place at the Rockhal on January 24, 2026. With an even larger pool of songs than last year, the jury faced a tough challenge: narrowing down the selection to just a handful of finalists who will battle it out live on stage in January. The winner of the Luxembourg Song Contest will go on to represent the nation in Vienna next May.

Among this year’s international jury members is Ludovic-Alexandre Vidal, who knows the competition well. Having co-written last year’s winning song La poupĂ©e monte le son. He now returns on the other side of the table, as a juror. Speaking about the selection process, Vidal explained what the jury is looking for:

We’re searching for that magical moment : the kind of song that makes people feel represented, that can carry a whole country behind it. Eurovision songs aren’t just about what you hear; they’re about what you see on stage. We imagine the staging potential as well, and that’s really what we’re after.

Finalists to be revealed on Thursday

The Luxembourg Song Contest 2026 Grand Final will once again take place live from the Rockhal, and will be broadcast on RTL across multiple platforms.

Fans won’t have to wait long to discover which acts made it through. The list of finalists will be unveiled this Thursday morning at 6:50 AM on RTL radio and across all RTL platforms. Later in the day, short video portraits will also be shared to help viewers get to know each of the selected artists better.

With excitement building and strong talent already confirmed, Luxembourg’s Eurovision dream for 2026 is off to a promising start.

Luxembourg’s latest participation came in Basel in 2025. Laura Thorn represented Luxembourg with the song “La poupĂ©e monte le son”, qualifying in seventh place. In the Grand Final, Luxembourg finished 22nd, receiving 47 points: 23 from the national juries, and 24 from the televoters.
