6. Why so surprised? We went through to the finals (which is great for the artist and the Belgian fans of this show). Were the chances for him so low or did I miss something else?

   Yes, we were announced first, but it wasn’t even a ranking. “Los als eerste” means nothing in this list. Just the first on the paper to be announced.

   Edit: I only answered the first reply but thanks for the other answers as well.

   Didn’t watch it today (except for the part of the results). Only heard the song before and thought it was not that bad to be surprised about going to the finals compared to what others were sending but seems it wasn’t that well today in the lives (and the jury part).

   Still don’t really understand why Peter VDV was acting like being announced first was something historical that the artist has accomplished (no disrespect to the artist to be clear) as it was purely luck to be the first on the list to be announced. Guess he forgot for a minute that it wasn’t a ranking.

   Still, congratz to Jérémie for going through despite what seems (according to the replies) like a lesser performance today. Hope he performs better in the finals then.

13. I don’t speak Dutch very well, but it was remarkable commentary when the Belgian artist went through :). The 10 that padsed to the next stage were announced in random order, but it sounded like the commentator thought that Belgium was 1st. Did I get that right?

17. Good we got through. Justified imo as it was a lackluster semi-final compared to the first one. But holy, Sweden was just miles ahead of every other act. The only thing keeping it from a win is a sympathy vote for Ukraine.
