Nine students from the Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy (USMF) will receive merit scholarships on behalf of the state for their academic achievements and active participation in extracurricular activities.


Eligible for the competition were full-time students who achieved, at the summer session of the previous academic year, an average grade not lower than ‘9’ in technical, agrarian, economic, medical, military, law, and real sciences (mathematics, computer science, physics, chemistry, biology) and no less than ‘9.5’ in other fields of study.


Candidates were selected based on the following criteria: average grades, participation in educational, research, cultural, and sports activities, the number of publications, and others. In total, 42 students from universities of Moldova will receive state support: Republic Scholarship – 12 (amounting to 4,060 lei), Government Scholarship – 30 (amounting to 3,380 lei);


Merit scholarships represent recognition of academic excellence and support for young individuals who contribute to the development of scientific, technical and cultural fields of Moldova. Their granting fits the government’s policies to strengthen the higher education system and align it with EU standards, in order to enhance the attractiveness and competitiveness of national and international higher and professional secondary technical education institutions of the country, through supporting performance and meritocracy.
