Maduro warns US against ‘crazy war’ after Trump authorises covert Venezuela action • FRANCE 24

Not war. Not war. Just peace. Just peace. Just peace. In a rare intervention in English, Nicholas Maduro issued a passionate plea for peace to the United States. But the Venezuelan president also threatened to order a nationwide armed insurrection if Washington ever attempted a military intervention. They will see the greatest shield this country has, the working class. The order is given. If they make a move, they will see the parade of millions of men and women with rifles. The comments came amid heightened tensions between Washington and several South American countries following a series of US air strikes on naval vessels suspected of smuggling cocaine. The strikes were part of Trump’s latest crusade against drug cartels, which his administration has officially designated as terrorist organizations. Trump has justified the attacks which have killed dozens of people by saying traffickers were unlawful combatants and recently threatened to strike ground targets in Venezuela. The sea drugs are almost dead and they can’t come in that fast from the land. And the land drugs are much more dangerous for them. It’s going to be much more dangerous. You’ll be seeing that soon. So why not just ask for a declaration of war? Well, I don’t think we’re going to necessarily ask for a declaration of war. I think we’re just going to kill people that are bringing drugs into our country. Trump has so far ordered the strikes without the approval of Congress, sparking concerns among Democratic and Republican lawmakers. The attacks have also drawn international condemnation. On Thursday, Colombia’s president accused the US of carrying out extrajudicial killings in violation of international law.

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro appealed Thursday for calm as tensions rose with Washington, saying in English: “No crazy war, please!” His plea followed US President Donald Trump’s announcement that he had authorised covert action against Caracas amid an expanding US military campaign targeting alleged drug traffickers in the Caribbean and Pacific.

The problem with Presidents across our borders is that they need to start taking care of their own citizens not expect America to keep supporting people from around the world especially if their citizens have bad intentions towards our America cause not everyone has there best intentions towards our country America. I bet and im not speaking for the people that really want to prosper and not just live off of our American system which has been drained for years.
