“Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s order to launch widespread strikes across Gaza after the return of all living captives constitutes collective punishment and revenge, which under international law amounts to war crimes and genocide,” the statement read.
The Council asserted that Israel’s deliberate bombing of densely populated areas under the guise of self-defense—after negotiations over prisoner release had concluded—proves that the war is not about captives, but about domination and destruction.
“The international community must no longer hide behind false narratives. The facts are clear: all captives have been released, yet Israel continues to bomb civilians, destroy hospitals and shelters, and target humanitarian convoys. This confirms that its military operations are acts of genocide,” the statement added.
The Council called for the following urgent actions: Immediate international intervention to halt Israeli attacks and enforce a genuine ceasefire. Full accountability for war crimes through the International Criminal Court and UN mechanisms. Complete suspension of all military and commercial cooperation with Israel by nations claiming commitment to human rights and justice. Immediate establishment of humanitarian corridors to deliver aid, medical supplies, and rescue teams to Gaza without obstruction.
The statement concluded: “Recent developments prove that the Zionist regime has never sought peace. The world must act decisively to end this genocide and hold Israel accountable before another failure is etched into the history of humanity.”
