I wonder if the ~35% of people that always approve of Trump go to the gas station and think “My gas is $1.99 a gallon” or get their meds at the pharmacy and pay several hundred dollars for a prescription and think “The pharmacy just gave me $500, because Trump reduced the price of drugs by 1200%”?

    I suspect they don’t, but I do think a lot of the MAGA NPCs on the poorer side realize they are struggling financially and yet can’t seem to connect the dots to who is in charge. They are the same people that love the ACA, but hate “Obamacare.”

The long term damage is done.The appeal to the worst human instincts, the dehumanization of those who think differently, and contempt for basic human decency, the disrespect for the rule of law is now a proven mean for political success. Blatant corruption is normalised. The headlines from the US resemble headlines from failed states in Africa. 40 million people face hunger in the US. And that’s just the way it is. Let that sink in.

MAGA diehards won’t blame Trump for their problems because they’ve been thoroughly weaned from critical thinking and the ability to properly analyze anything by the GOP systematically demolishing the basic educational systems beginning in the Reagan years. Everyone in the red states has been subjected to the ‘boiling a frog’ destruction of the K-12 public schools. The firmly blue states have fared somewhat better, hence Trump’s low approval rating.

    These figures won’t get much worse because people either get it or don’t by now – you’re either capable of doing the basic arithmetic or not.

  5. Remember when Steven Miller spun to Trump that a unanimous SCOTUS decision against him was actually a 12-0 win? Trump doesn’t know. Unless Fox News decides to tell him that he’s unpopular, he’s going to keep believing his Truth feed and whatever the lackeys say.
