    >Croatia is a great over-achieving footballing nation but this article is pure spin. This article calculates Croatia’s status as the no. 1 per-capita exporter against the 9 other top 10 countries in absolute player exports.
    >
    >Croatia’s 400 players against its 2021 population estimate (3,888,529) give it a per capita export rate of 0.000103.Iceland’s national team squad and recent call-ups alone include 51 players playing abroad.
    >
    >Given Iceland’s estimated 2021 population is 371,580, the 51 players with NT call ups are enough to prove Iceland a superior per capita player exporter (51/371,580 = 0.000137). This number doesn’t even include other Icelandic people playing abroad.San Marino, with a population of 33,600 has 7 current and recent internationals playing in Italy giving it an export rate of 0.00021.
    >
    >According to this, North Macedonia has 209 players abroad. With a population of 1,836,713, North Macedonia has an export rate of 0.000114. This source has been shown by another commenter to vary greatly from the numbers in the article’s referenced report.
    >
    >I’m sure there are many more small nations that exceed Croatia’s per capita export rate.
    >
    >I get that Croatia produces an insane amount of quality talent but there is no point in dubbing yourself to be proportionally no. 1 at exporting while also excluding that vast majority of nations from the calculations.
    >
    >Just as Croatia deserves credit for its rate of export, so too do other small nations that are comparably superior exporters.
