  4. Dodik is also backed up by Serbian dictator Vučić and Hungary’s Orban. He’s also built up massive personal power by buying up a ton of businesses, resources and real estate in the RS side of Bosnia.

    Trying to boil his influence down to being Putin-backed and implying that’s why Trump supports him is shallow. Dodik is a facilitator of corruption and that makes him a natural Trump ally. 

  6. At some point people need to have a serious discussion about the use of sanctions. The removal of sanctions *should* be the norm, assuming a change in circumstance. They are fundamentally an arbitrary, politically motivated action, and the consequences are absolutely enormous.

    The discussion should be about whether any sanctions are still justified (if they ever were). It shouldn’t just be generic nosensical political shit flinging about what perceived side of the ideological divide they are on. Ironically the framing here isn’t much different to the corrupt framing trump himself would put on such a decision.
