I ditched Spotify a couple of years ago. Shame, I really liked the service, but I can’t support their bullshit.
For streaming: Qobuz, soulseek and self host, or buy music rip it as a FLAC and self host.

Are there any apps that you can just upload and listen? I fall asleep to podcasts on shuffle and it is impossible (for me so far anyway) to find a file app that I can just upload my podcasts to, make a playlist of them, and put it on shuffle. I have no problem giving up music streaming if I could get that feature.
okay but the issue in today’s world no large corporation is guiltless or morally worthy of my money. People say Apple Music but Tim Cook and Apple has donated millions to the Trump campaign and is regularly seen at dinners with him. The only way to consume music is to buy CDs and records straight from the source but most people want to jump around and listen to varying artists/songs back to back.

I know I can’t download it straight from Spotify but I would like some way of getting the list and see which songs I have so far.
Why did they pick Spotify? I’ve seen ICE ads on all major platforms. Microsoft is even allowing Halo characters to be used for ICE recruitment. I feel bad for my many musician friends that rely on Spotify for their career

I just bought a tape Walkman. I gotta replace the belt and I’m probably gonna clean the board up, but I’ve been having an unmitigated blast going through Bandcamp’s tape offering and buying up new tapes for it.
Not for everyone, but it’s been really fun for me.
My wife and I are going back to local record stores, vinyl and Digital downloads from artists. This is the best way we’ve come up with support musicians and local economies. It means we have to drive an hour to get there – but once a month or so isn’t too bad.

Yes. Boycott Reddit, too, and the internet. It’s the only way to stand by your principles and avoid all corporate created services.
