Vladimir Putin’s regime is “brittle” and “headless,” not strong. Evidence for this includes the “overheated” reaction of jailing 18-year-old singer Naoko for an anti-Putin song, which the author calls the act of a “fraidy cat.”

  1. I think they kid themselves in believing their future looks good.
Their actions in Ukraine have coloured my perception of Russia for the rest of my life. They are the scum of the earth

  2. can we limit these posts? since the first week of the war, after russia failed to take Kyiv, that these posts come almost every 3 days. adds nothing and dilutes the situation

  3. Nah

Just the same defenestrations and political jailings as always.

  4. Brink or not, it definitely isn’t in a better position than it was in 2014. The future ain’t looking Rosie and for what gain’s?

  5. I’ll believe it when Russians do it. I have never seen a less energetic people re: dignity in my life.

President Dudayev, the assassinated first president of a free Chechnya, which is now a broken vassal for Putin, said it best: “Russia is sick.”

[President Dzhokhar Dudayev – “Russians sick with russism”](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d7xJl3ZrFeI&t=45s)

  6. if i would got 1$ everytime i read that russian economy is failing…

  7. The “[White Rose](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_Rose)” resistance group was formed in June 1942 in Germany, Sophie and Hans Scholl were executed in February 1943. The war raged on for more than 2 years. There never was a general rise up in Germany against the Nazis.

Do you think Russians will do?

  8. So what if ~~Russia~~ the Neo-GоІdеn Ноrdе is on the brink.

Motyl is Ukrainian but I’m surprised that he’s dancing around the unforgivable reality about his northeastern neighbors.

Were the Germans and Japanese becoming less depraved in 1945 because their respective empires were on the brink?

Even if/when the Russians are going down, it doesn’t prevent them at all from channeling their true spiritual ancestors and former masters from the GоІdеn Ноrdе at the expense of the Ukrainians and the rest of the civilized world. Launching a Shahed in broad daylight at a Ukrainian apartment building or hospital is the Russians’ idea for entertainment these days, win or lose.

Remember too that as the Russians were losing locally in the fall of 2022 by retreating during the Ukrainians’ first counteroffensive, they routinely booby-trapped emptied family houses with grenades and land mines.

Along with being cheaters, thieves, murderers, rаріѕtѕ, and child-traffickers, Russians also stand for the archetype of the pathology of “If we can’t have it, no one can!”.

  9. Good. Maybe that will end all his bombing of kindergartens and churches in Ukraine.

  10. We’ve been hearing this for over 3 years. Remember the great “sugar shortage”? The “run on the banks”? Unsustainable inflation? Etc.

  11. Can’t wait for this fucker to get ganged on by the very mafia boys he took tribute from all these years. The rope is getting closer to your neck Uncle Vova, you child killer mfer

  12. I get wanting to feel optimistic but making these “we’ve almost won” may have unforseen consequences. If this sentiment spreads it will be easier to convince policy makers that they dont need to invest in the war effort cause ‘victory is just around the corner anyways’

  13. I’m consoled by the way the Soviet Union collapsed. Gradually, then suddenly.

  14. I wonder if all this “about to collaps” is some kind of perverted new political edging?

So I have 10 monitors installed and on each of them I have a browsertab open with the theme “Russia about to collapse”.

    Policial gooning.

One of my favourites is the “first it goes slow…and then it goes fast” theme.

  15. the operative word here is “might”.

Yes Ukraine has been gloriously destroying much of the Orcs petro-chemical plants through drone strikes and western sanctions are really starting to bite. But…

the missiles and drones and artillery still fall on Ukraine’s soil, taking innocent lives. Still the Orcs throw lives away in pointless meat grinder assaults.

Russia has collapsed before, in 1917 when their army was shattered, causing revolution. But we’re not there yet. Putin will only go when he is dead, by either his own hand or someone close to him gets the guts to put a bullet in his head.

Until then the war will continue. More people will needlessly die because Putler was afraid of Russian demographic collapse. The idiot had it all before the war but he wanted the old Soviet Empire back. Thus here we are, four years in but hopefully closer to victory than we were this time last year.

Europe is finding its spine again and the Swedes are stepping up with their donation of 150 Gripen fighter jets. Of course more is always needed so keep up the pressure on your elected representatives in your national parliaments, to tell those bastards to be more generous with donations of military and civilian aid.

    Slava Ukraini 🇺🇦

  16. I’ve read these types of articles for almost 4 years now. Where is this brink? Is it in the room with us now?

  17. I have read this 3,5 years ago. Let us know, once something actually happens.

  18. Most Russians know perfectly well that the regime is stealing money from its own people and enriching itself. Those who also want a piece of the pie will eventually rebel.

  19. With respect, this type of headline has been popping up weekly for 3½ years.

I’ll be glad when it’s true, but “wolf” has been cried too many times.

Can we just stop posting this bait until there is something tangible to base it on.

  20. I won’t hold my breath, but I’ll remain hopeful that it collapses sooner rather than later. Dictators will cling to power by any means necessary.

  21. I know we’ve been hearing this for years but his point that he might be starting to be seen as weak and pathetic is important in I think.  He makes it clear it didn’t mean it will be today but that it’s a big change when larger protests are starting to happen.

  22. That “evidence” is goofy as shit if you know *anything* about Russia

You know they murder the opposition, right? They poison them in NATO countries. Using the arrest of a singer as evidence is so stupid.

  23. Remember that in these large scale operations with massive budgets, “brink” can mean within the next 10 years.

A lot can happen in that time.

  24. Man, As a former Cold War warrior, it was good to see Russia behave….kind of civilly, over the last couple of decades (I know, Chechnya, Georgia, etc…).

Russia was doing okay. Life for the average Russian was okay-ish. Then putin started consolidated power, diverted tax revenues to himself & the oligarchs, depriving Russian society of improved infrastructure, education, healthcare, etc …

Instead of leading Russia into increased prosperity, he chose to send it circling the drain. Overall, a pitiful tragedy for any good & decent Russians.

History books could have praised his efforts to bring many Russians into a future full of opportunities; but…, alas, the books will outline how he tanked Russia demographically.

  25. If such articles were a vodka, we’d all be alcoholics

  26. A lot of people will be drinking champagne when Putrid is gone and Russia devolves into chaos, and hopefully, breaks apart into smaller countries.

  27. ruzzia is finished.

the country had a declining population even before the war.

now they have brain drain through people fleeing the draft and hundreds of thousands dead or permanently maimed.

the coubtry burnt their future on the pile of ambitions of an aging dictator whos grip on the country was so “strong” even his own secret services lied to him.

    They won’t recover from this.
