It's spooky time, yes, but it's ALSO Friday. And it's been a loooong week.
So come on in, let's have a chat.
Don't forget to share your pumpkins, costumes, decorations and whatever other festivities you've been up to in our Halloween megathread!

Taking the kids out later then planning on watching the new Frankenstein movie tonight when they go to bed
I’m awake 90 minutes before I have to be because I’m excited. It’s Halloween, people!
Some plans for today are hitting York Ghost Merchants, visiting Nox, eating some Thai tapas that’s meant to be highly rated, and going on spooky ghost walk.

This seems not ideal…
My Friday is going to consist of fixing a few HubSpot forms, eating my body weight in kebab and watching scary films.
Going on holiday tomorrow, wahoo!
But I do have to go to the dentist this afternoon. Boo.
So, swings and roundabouts. As we’re staying with friends tonight, at least I don’t have to worry about getting sweets in for trick or treaters (not that we get many, in fairness – we’re on a tiny isolated street).
Remember to tell your children if they’re old enough to go trick or treating by themselves, not to upset vulnerable neighbours.
Autistic or learning disabled children may have difficulty understanding etiquette or have speech difficulties. Don’t assume that every child is an ungrateful brat (although you will usually come across one).
Some autistic and learning disabled older teenagers and adults like to trick or treat as much as the next person. Don’t automatically assume they’re pulling a fast one (the chancers tend to be out later, anyway).
Explain to your children that if a house has no decorations and no lights on, they don’t celebrate Halloween and it’s rude to bother the occupants.
Make sure that you and your children can be seen. Stay on pavements in well lit areas, carry torches or light up accessories. Wear reflectors on dark clothing.
DO NOT FUCK AROUND WITH FIREWORKS! Halloween costumes tend to be cheaply made and extremely flammable. Some places are selling sparklers, there’s always an idiot with a rocket. Any costumes bought from Shein or Temu are likely to barely meet UK safety standards and will essentially turn to plastic if set alight.
This has been your annual Halloween Safety Reminder. Be safe, be seen, have fun.
Woke up at 0430 after a weird nightmare and couldn’t get back to sleep, so have been watching The Traitors and cleaning.
Off to the cinema later this morning for. Halloween double bill and some lunch.
Starting a new job next week after 3 months of being out of work. Feeling quite anxious so journaling later to try and relax over the weekend and avoid the Sunday Scaries.
I’ve wrapped up all my work nicely so I’m set for my week off. I’ll spend today doing those ‘bottom of the list’ things (like my CPD record which I hate), see if anyone needs any help or support with owt etc, and then have an early finish. Beer in hand by half 3 hopefully.
Shopping, tidying, clearing out cupboards ready for our upcoming coming house move, meeting a roofer at said house to give us a quote, catching up on All Creatures Great & Small at somepoint, and hopefully some hobby time
As well as Halloween, it’s also my 1yr anniversary in my house! I can’t believe it’s been a year since it became mine! Lots of feelings…
I’m also still not feeling great. I have been SO sweaty overnight. I’ve had it the last few nights but no extra blankets last night and it still happened at least twice.
Need to login and tell work I won’t be working again, and then I’m probably gonna lie around a bit longer before getting up and having a shower.
